About the controversy
In 2011, Ranbir Kapoor made a statement about eating beef during a television interview, which sparked controversy when it came up again in 2022. This happened while he was promoting his film “Brahmastra.” As a result, members of a group called Bajrang Dal protested and blocked him and his wife, Alia Bhatt, from entering the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The activists found his earlier comment offensive and announced that they would not let him enter the temple as a form of protest.
Abhijeet on Besharam
Abhijeet talked about the 2013 movie Besharam, where he performed the song ‘Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai’ with Shreya Ghoshal. He shared his thoughts on the film, reflecting on its themes and significance and said, “Thank God, I am not a singer of this era. I sang a song, ‘Dil Ka Jo Haal Hai,’ in a super flop film. The song wasn’t a hit. No one knows about the song’s film. However, if you play the song, you would know who sang it.”
Reacting to the flop film, he added, “Even if the floppiest song plays, people would know whose song it is, and not the hero or film attached to it. The property belongs to the music company. They have the rights, and we don’t get royalty. However, everyone has ears, and the voice that goes to the ear and heart is mine.”
