Aamir Khan paid tribute to his co-star Achyut Potdar, who passed away on August 18. He expressed his grief at Potdar’s demise and recalled his amazing work in movies. For the unversed, Achyut Potdar’s dialogue ‘Kehna kya chahte ho’ from ‘3 Idiots’ is a big part of meme culture and has been viral on social media for many years.
Expressing his grief, Aamir Khan said in a statement, “I am very saddened to hear about Achyutji’s passing away. He was an amazing actor, a wonderful human being, and a great colleague. We will miss you, Achyutji. My heartfelt condolences to his family.”

Meanwhile, while speaking to Subhash K Jha, R Madhavan also remembered Potdar’s work in ‘3 Idiots’. He said, “I had the privilege of working with him in Raju Sir’s 3 Idiots. It was a very small, but Achyutji made it so interesting. His background in theatre made him a true trouper. I wish I had worked more with him. But you know how this industry is. The bond lasts as long as the shooting. Sad.”
Madhavan also starred in ‘3 Idiots’ alongside Aamir Khan in the lead role.
