A Kerala Man Recreated Stunning Gangamma Thalli’s Look With Allu Arjun’s Pushpa-2: The Rule

A man's video depicting the epicene character of Gangamma Thalli's look outside a movie theatre goes viral on social media

Kerala: Amid Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule enjoying box office success, a video of a man, dressed like the lead actor, is going viral on social media. The clip shows Kerala-based blogger, Mukesh Mohan imitating the actor’s signature hook step from the film outside a movie theatre in Thrissur. Within no time he managed to capture the crowds’ attention not just around him, but also on the social media apps. The video has so far garnered over five million viewers and is still going strong.

Mukesh got inspired from Allu Arjun’s Gangamma Thalli’s look, thus, painted Allu Arjun’s face on his belly. He also added piercings and adorned his body with ornaments, just make it look as real as the character in the film. In the comment section, Mukesh revealed that the man who painted him is a local artist named Dasan. He stated that Dasan has been putting on tiger costumes since he was 12 years old, and has participated in various promotional activities, both film-related and otherwise.

Who is Goddess Gangamma?

According to Hindi mythology, goddess Gangamma is recognised as the sister of lord Venkateshwara Balaji. As per mythology, she was born in a village named Avilala in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh and is known to preserve and protect the region from any harm. Allu Arjun beautifully plays the role of revered folk deity in the film.

Allu wears a saree with body painted blue and traditional accessories like nose pins and earrings adding to the overall look. In the movie, there is a song titled ‘Gangamma Thalli Jathara’ dedicated to the Goddess, and it plays a crucial role in taking the story forward. The lyrics of the new-viral song have been penned by renowned writer Chandrabose and music has been composed by National-award winner Devi Sri Prasad. The film has taken inspiration from the popular Gangamma Jatara festival, which takes place every year in May.
