The 70th Filmfare Awards were held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at EKA Arena near Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad, celebrating the best of Hindi cinema. The evening was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, and Maniesh Paul, with standout performances by Shah Rukh, Kajol, Kriti Sanon, and others.
Laapataa Ladies dominated the night, bagging 13 awards, including Best Film, tying the record previously set by Gully Boy. Nitanshi Goel won Best Debut Actor (Female) for her performance in the film.
A particularly heartwarming moment occurred when Nitanshi, wearing a long yellow gown, tripped a little while going up the stairs to get her award. Shah Rukh Khan immediately helped her, holding the long train of her gown so she could reach Karan Johar, who was giving her the trophy.
The audience clapped, and the video of SRK’s kind gesture quickly went viral.
