New Delhi: The 68th National Film Awards ceremony is being organised in New Delhi today. The names of the winners were already revealed in July. President Droupadi Murmu is presenting the awards.
Legendary actress Asha Parekh accepts the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2020 as a recognition of her outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema. Minister for I&B and Youth Affairs Anurag Thakur and President Droupadi Murmu presented the award to Asha Parekh.

Looking elegant in a yellow saree, the veteran actress said, “I’m grateful that the recognition comes to me just one day before my 80th birthday.”
Speaking to ANI, Asha Parekh said, “It feels great. It feels as if all my desires are now fulfilled…Initially, I could not believe that I am getting the award. Today it feels that I have actually received the award.”
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn and Suriya were conferred with the best actors award at the National Film Awards 2022 for their films Tanhaji and Soorarai Pottru, respectively.
Director Om Raut was given the award for Best Popular Film for providing wholesome entertainment for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Ajay Devgn also received an award as the film’s producer.
