2024 Oscars: India’s official entry for the 2024 Academy Awards (Oscars) is the Malayalam film 2018 (also known as 2018: Everyone is a Hero), starring Tovino Thomas. “The film 2018-Everyone is a Hero represents India and the theme of the film is the calamity humans face”, the Film Federation of India (FFI), an apex body of all film associations — said in a statement. Movies like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma, The Zwigato, directed by Nandita Das and Balagam were in the race for official Oscar entry. Channel ABC will telecast the 96th Oscars on March 10, 2024, in more than 200 territories across the globe from Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
2018 Everyone Is A Hero
In the film, actor-producer Tovino Thomas portrays the role of a young man who leaves the Indian Army with a fake medical certificate and redeems himself during the floods. The film also has Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Kunchacko Boban and Aparna Balamurali in pivotal roles.
