New Delhi: Karan Johar directorial Student Of The Year was released in October 19, 2012. Soon it became one of the most sought after film for the new-gen audiences. The film marks the debut of three of the most popular faces- Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhtra, and Varun Dhawan.
Today, SOTY turns 10 and the story still feels fresh even after 10 years. It is the story of every new-age groups or youngsters. On this occasion, Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle and shared a video encompassing snippets from the movie.
Sharing the video, KJo penned a long note, delivering his experience with the movie, casts and the overall shooting days. He says, Student Of The Year was never a serious movie for him, rather he saw it as ‘a holiday movie’.

Student Of The Year completes its 10 years
Karan Johar said, SOTY was a movie that was young, fun and entertaining. It was never intended to move any cinematic mountains.
He said, “what I didn’t realise then that this film would give me so much more than memories or a commercial success … would give so much more than a film in my directorial archives… this film gave me three of my most defining relationships …”
“Sid, Varun and Alia went on to become my family…..besides my mom they are the three people I think I talk to every single day…. never knew way back then that I would have children of my own …but my first protective parental feeling was for all three of them…”
