Aditi was a student activist since the beginning of her undergraduate college life at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2017. She participated in a protest against the university administration, demanding the withdrawal of the women’s hostel curfew timings.

Aditi later enrolled in Pondicherry University in 2018. After witnessing saffronisation, she opposed it and gheraoed the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

JNU scholar studying gendered violence

Aditi is pursuing a PhD at the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory (CCPPT), School of International Studies (SIS), JNU. Aditi’s research is based on gendered violence and women’s resistance in Uttar Pradesh since 2012.

She is in her second year and works towards making the Internal Complaints Committee more transparent and accountable.
