The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is considered one of the toughest competitive exams in the world, with lakhs of candidates competing every year for limited positions. Among those who have achieved success in this prestigious exam are sisters Tina Dabi and Ria Dabi, both of whom are IAS officers.
Tina Dabi became a well-known name in 2015 after securing All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Her younger sister, Ria Dabi, followed in her footsteps by securing AIR 15 in the 2020 UPSC exam, creating her own identity in the civil services.
Ria Dabi, a 2021 batch IAS officer, is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zila Parishad (District Council) in Udaipur, Rajasthan. She cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt at the age of 23.
Ria Dabi completed her schooling from the Convent of Jesus and Mary in New Delhi and later graduated in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. Her journey and achievements continue to inspire UPSC aspirants across the country.
Ria Dabi is married to IPS officer Manish Kumar and recently made headlines for her grand wedding reception. While her exact salary has not been officially disclosed, reports indicate that she earlier received a basic pay of around Rs 56,100 per month as an SDM-level officer. With added allowances and benefits, her overall earnings are considerably higher.
Apart from her salary, Ria Dabi enjoys several benefits that come with the IAS position, including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Travel Allowance (TA). IAS officers are also provided with official residences, support staff, personal security, and other facilities to help them perform their administrative duties efficiently.
Meanwhile, according to an IANS report, Tina Dabi is currently posted as the District Collector of Barmer, Rajasthan. Her husband, IAS officer Pradeep Gawande, has been posted as the District Collector of Jalore.
According to Navbharat Times, Indiatimes reports, Ria Dabi’s promotion has been faster compared to her sister Tina’s career progression. While Tina Dabi reportedly waited nearly nine to ten years for a promotion, Ria Dabi, who joined the IAS in 2021, was promoted in 2024. The report added that Ria has been promoted from the junior administrative scale to the senior administrative scale and continues to serve as CEO of the Zila Parishad in Udaipur.
