The WBTET 2022 received over six lakh applications, of which an estimated 1.5 lakh qualified for the next phase. At the elementary level, there are now 11,000 open positions in state-sponsored and -aided schools.

Following the release of the WB primary TET 2022 results, state education minister Bratya Basu stated that the state is dedicated to providing complete transparency in the hiring of both teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Board President Goutam Pal stated during a press conference that candidates who attempted four questions with typos or printing errors received full points.
