The UGC NET exam, originally held on June 18, was canceled the next day due to concerns about fairness. The exams have been rescheduled between August 21 and September 4. Because of the Janmashtami holiday on August 26, the exam scheduled for that day will now be on August 27 (Tuesday).

On the same day, an organization called ‘West Bengal Chhatra Samaj’ will hold a ‘Nabanna Abhiyan’ protest against the RG tax case. The state police has announced on social media that they will support NET exam candidates to ensure they can reach their exam centers.

On Tuesday, a case was filed in the High Court to halt the Nabanna operation. However, the court did not intervene. The state said that the organizers did not get police permission for the event. The state counsel also informed the court about concerns regarding the UGC NET exam.
