UPSC Civil Service Exam 2023: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started the application process for Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 today. The last date to fill out the application form is February 21. Eligible and interested candidates may apply online at the official website – upsconline.nic.in 

This year, UPSC has notified 1105 vacancies for Civil Services Exam. The civil services preliminary exam is scheduled to be held on May 28 while the main exam will begin on September 15. Before filling out the form candidates must be well aware of their eligibility.

Who can apply?

To appear in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, a candidate must have a graduate degree from a recognized university or institute. And the age limit should be a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 32 years as on 1 August 2023. However, the upper age limit is relaxed for certain categories like SC, ST, OBC, Defense service personnel and others.

Qualified candidates are allowed six attempts in CSE 2023. However, SC and ST category candidates are allowed an unlimited number of attempts, while OBC candidates can take nine attempts. PwBD candidates belonging to the General and EWS categories are also allowed nine attempts.

UPSC Civil Services 2023: How to register? 

  • Go to the official website of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in
  • Scroll down the page and click on the ‘Apply Online’ button on the right side of the page.
  • Now, click on the link which reads ‘Online Application for Various Examinations’.
  • Find the link to apply online for the required recruitment.
  • Complete the application process for UPSC IAS and IFS in two parts.
  • In the first part, provide the basic details and then read all the necessary instructions for a photo, fee payment, correction etc.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ and then follow the next set of procedures.
  • Pay the application fee online, select the exam centre and then upload the required documents.

The Commission has also started the online registration process for Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2023 through CS (P) Examination 2023, the online application window will close on 21 February. The Preliminary Examination is conducted along with the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. However, the main and interview stage are conducted separately.
