The 837 openings were advertised by the commission, and a written test was performed on March 5. 55,000 candidates have taken the test in total.
The commission declared that the recruitment exam has been cancelled and a new date would be notified later after reviewing the FIR filed by the Central Crime Station of Hyderabad district.

Several political parties, as well as youth and student organisations, protested loudly in the meantime over the leak of the exam’s question paper, which was administered by the Telangana Commission.
The demonstrators asked that individuals responsible for leaking the exam questions used to select candidates for the position of assistant engineer in several departments face harsh punishment. Also, they called for the ouster of TSPSC Chairman Janardhan Reddy.
The Begum Bazar police station case was forwarded by the Hyderabad police earlier on Tuesday to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Assistant Commissioner (Crimes & SIT) A R Srinivas for a full probe. In addition, he demanded a report from the TSPSC within 48 hours and advocated for harsh punishment for anyone responsible.
After fearing that its systems had been hacked, the TSPSC postponed the tests for the positions of veterinary assistant surgeon on March 15 and 16 and municipal planning building overseer on March 12.
