New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has given a nod to the appointment of  directors to eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) which includes the re-appointment of two directors.

As per Ministry of Education, directors of two IITs have been posted at the top positions. Rajat Moona, Director of IIT Bhilai has been appointed as the Director of IIT Gandhinagar. Also, IIT Dharwad Director Pasumarthy Seshu has been appointed as director of IIT Goa.

KN Satyanarayana (IIT Tirupati) and Manoj Singh Gaur (IIT Jammu) are the two directors who have been re-appointed for the second term.

Meanwhile, Professors of IIT Madras — Seshadri Sekhar and Shreepad Karmalkar — have been designated as directors of IIT Palakkad and IIT Bhubaneshwar respectively.

Venkayappaya R Desai from IIT Kharagpur’s Department of Civil Engineering has become the director of IIT Dharwad. Rajiv Prakash who is from IIT BHU’s School of Material Science and Technology has now become Director of IIT Bhilai.
