The American football team of Poornima University (PU), Jaipur has got double success in the form of gold and bronze medals. This team won both these trophies in the All India Inter University (AIU) American Football Championship 2022-23.
Recently organized by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh at District Stadium, Soron, Kasganj. Poornima University team won the gold medal by defeating MLSU, Udaipur 12-0 in its flag category. In this match, Arun and Shivam scored one touchdown each to give the team a one-sided victory.
PU team also won the bronze medal by standing third in the tackle category of the championship. It is worth mentioning that in the flag category of this championship, 36 entries came from all over the country, while eight teams participated in the tackle category.
On returning to Jaipur after this victory, the team was given a warm welcome at Poornima University. Congratulating the team on this achievement, Rahul Singhi, Co-Founder and Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, President of the University said that it is a proud moment not only for our university but also for Rajasthan.
Ashok Kumar Poonia, Associate Dean, Sports of the University said that the success of the students is the result of their hard work and preparation.
