NTA Responds To JEE Mains Answer Key Controversy, Urges Students Not To Panic Over Provisional Responses

NTA mentioned this in their X handle, "Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable."

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has replied to the controversy around the alleged inaccuracies in the provisional answer key for session 2 of the JEE Mains. NTA mentioned this in their X handle, “Drawing conclusions based on the provisional answer keys is not desirable. NTA would like to advise and inform candidates that they should not to be misled by reports that create unnecessary doubt and anxiety.”

NTA Clarifies Status Of Answer Keys

NTA also mentioned that “As regards as JEE(Main) Session-II, the answer keys, uploaded are only provisional. The Final Answer Keys have not been published so far for JEE (Main) Session-II. The Score is determined by only the final Answer Key.”

Agency Reaffirms Transparent Process

They wrote, “NTA has always followed a transparent examination process, which allows candidates to view their recorded responses as soon as the provisional answer keys are released. The NTA considers every challenge to the provisional Answer Key with utmost seriousness.”

Students Raise Concerns Over Nine Questions

On April 12, NTA published the provisional answer keys for JEE Mains Session 2 Paper 1, along with the question papers and students recorded responses. Students in Kota—India’s coaching hub—raised objections to at least nine questions across physics, chemistry, and mathematics, as reported by the Times of India.
