NCERT Begins NEP 2020 Rollout With Launch Of Revised School Textbooks

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has officially begun the rollout of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by launching a new set of school textbooks.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has released new textbooks for Classes 5 and 8, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.

In its post on X, NCERT said information about new textbooks for Class 8 had been posted. For Class 8, “Curiosity”, a Science Textbook and “Kaushal Bodh”, a Vocational Education Textbook, were released.

Here is a list of new textbooks published by NCERT:

Malhar – Hindi Textbook (Class-8)
Veena – Hindi Textbook (Class 5)
Santoor – English Textbook (Class 5)
Kriti – Art Textbook (Grade 8)
Poorvi – English Textbook (Grade 8)

Four new textbooks aligned with NEP 2020 for Classes 1, 2, 3, and 6 were published in previous years. While English and Hindi textbooks for Classes 5 and 8 are not yet available for purchase online or offline, NCERT has listed them for sale on Amazon.com and plans to release them soon.
