The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is the toughest competitive exam in the nation. Only a few students clear it and get an opportunity to serve the administration in different roles across the country.
Today, we are going to talk about an IAS topper who not only secured the 1st rank in the civil services examination but had also worked for a top global investment banking company in the past as a techie. Aditya Srivastava is the topper of the UPSC-CSE in 2023.
Aditya was a bright student in his school days. He attended CMS School in Lucknow’s Aliganj and scored 95% in his intermediate examinations. Later, he appeared for an engineering competitive examination, cracked it, and secured admission to IIT Kanpur, where he earned a B.Tech degree. He also pursued his M.Tech from the same institution.
He was placed with the top global investment banking company Goldman Sachs, where he was offered a salary of Rs 2.5 lakh per month. Later, he began preparing for the UPSC examination. He secured AIR 135 in 2022 and was selected for the Indian Police Service. In 2023, he made another attempt and cracked the exam with AIR 1.
While talking to PTI, Aditya said, “Till the morning, I was praying that God may put me in the top 70. It took a bit of time to sink in that I had got the 1st rank. I don’t think anyone can say that he or she was expecting to get 1st rank.”
