Meet The Man Who Cracked UPSC Twice, Topped The Exam With AIR 1, Now He Is…

The successful candidates, from different backgrounds, receive training at government institutes before their induction into service.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is considered one of the toughest examinations in the country. Lakhs of aspirants appear each year to become IAS, IPS, and IFS officers to serve the nation. However, only a few qualify for the prestigious exam, which is held in three phases. The successful candidates, from different backgrounds, receive training at government institutes before their induction into service.

We will discuss Gaurav Agrawal who cracked UPSC examination 2013 with AIR 1. Gaurav has cracked the examination twice. He cracked the examination in 2012 and secured 244 rank. He was selected for IPS but a year later, he topped the examination. 

Prior to UPSC, Gaurav was working as a trader in Hong Kong between 2008-2011. He also served IBM for seven months. Gaurav was receiving a handsome salary but he decided to quit the job to become a bureaucrat and serve the people.

After completing schooling, Gaurav appeared in the IIT JEE exam and cracked it. He did his B.Tech from IIT Kanpur. Later , he cracked CAT and completed his Management studies from IIM Lucknow in 2005.. 

In addition , Gaurav is also an author of a book, ‘Indian Economy’ for the UPSC aspirants. At present, Gaurav is posted as District Collector of Jodhpur, in Rajasthan.
