On April 02, 2024, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, K. R. Mangalam University (KRMU), Gurugram, Haryana and the International School of Media and Entertainment Studies (ISOMES, News 24 Campus) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of esteemed dignitaries. Both will cooperate more closely in education, research, and training development following a MoU. Faculty from both institutions will collaborate in joint research in the discipline of mutual interest.
Importantly, the MoU signing ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Raghuvir Singh (Vice Chancellor, KRMU), Tanuja Shankar (Director, ISOMES), Mr. Deepak Mishra (Officiating Registrar, KRMU), Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Khattri (Dean, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, KRMU), Dr. Manasvi (Associate Professor), Dr. Ritwik Ghosh (Assistant Professor), Dr. Aaqib Butt (Assistant Professor), Dr. Sarina (Assistant Professor), Gauri Joshi (Assistant Professor), Aditi Aggarwal (Assistant Professor), Trilok Kumar Singh, Research Scholar, Teaching Assistant and former student of ISOMES, including all the faculty members of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, KRMU.
Moreover, KRMU and ISOMES collaborated for academic exchange (including internships/workshops/ seminars/conclaves/on-the-job training of students) and cooperation in media education, research, and training with the objective of building competency, developing journalistic skills, and the mindset of students through several programs and activities in upcoming days. The MoU will improve the foundations of journalism by providing SJMC students with the information, abilities, and principles they will need to address future problems.
The same can lead to a stronger media education, media literacy, research and media training environment for both ISOMES and SJMC students of KRMU. It could facilitate various training programs, workshops, jobs and internships for media students, providing them with opportunities to gain practical experience and exposure to different aspects of their field. The major objective of this MoU specifies the overarching aim of the cooperation and the scope of this agreement between KRMU and the ISOMES defines the specific areas of collaboration within the context of the media sphere.
In the context of reporting and evaluation, both of them set up a system for regular reporting on the progress and outcomes of collaborative activities, as well as mechanisms for evaluating the success of the MoU. Such a MoU is a formal commitment to foster cooperation and synergy among academics and ISOMES, ultimately benefiting media students by providing them with broader educational and research opportunities.
The goal of such an agreement is to increase relationships between KRMU and the ISOMES, News 24, E24, Darshan 24, News 24 Podcast and Radio Dhamal, resulting in top-level media education, research, and career possibilities, as well as promoting a more vibrant, ethical and responsible journalism community.
