India Post has announced a massive recruitment plan for 21,413 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions across India. The vacancies include roles such as Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak.
Candidates who have completed their Class 10 exams are eligible to apply through the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Application forms can be submitted until March 3, followed by a correction window from March 6 to 8. Registration for India Post GDS 2025 opened on February 10, and the last date for form submission is March 3. After this, candidates will have the opportunity to amend or edit their applications between March 6 and 8.
India Post GDS Vacancies In Multiple States
The recruitment covers various states including: North East, Odisha, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Assam. Tamil Nadu has the highest number of vacancies, followed by Uttar Pradesh.
India Post GDS Age Criteria
Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 40 as of March 3, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from SC, ST, and other backward classes as per government norms. Regarding educational qualifications, applicants must have completed the Class 10 secondary school examination, with English and Mathematics as subjects, from a recognized board of education.

Salary Structure
Branch Post Master (BPM): Rs 12,000 – Rs 29,380
Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM)/Dak Sevak: Rs 10,000 – Rs 24,470
Selection Process
No written exam will be conducted for this recruitment. Selection will be based on a merit list prepared using Class 10 marks.
