The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has announced the application process for the Joint Admission Test for Master’s (IIT JAM) 2026. Candidates will have to apply through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The national-level entrance examination which provides admission to postgraduate courses offered by premier institutes will be conducted on a decided date of February 15, 2026. There are more than 3000 seats across 21 IITs and several other renowned institutes. IIT JAM is one of the most preferred examinations for science graduates.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2026
-Visit the official website jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
-Register on the JOAPS Portal with a valid email ID and mobile number.
-Using the generated enrolment ID and password, login into the portal.
-Fill in personal and academic details, select test papers, and select exam cities.
-Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, and more (category certificates only if applicable).
-LPay the application fee online.
-Download and keep the application form for future use.
What Is IIT JAM?
The IIT JAM is held once a year for admission into MSc, MSc-Tech, MSc-MTech Dual Degree, MS (Research), Joint MSc-PhD, and MSc-PhD Dual Degrees Program at IITs. In 2026-2027 candidates can apply for over 3000 seats in 89 programs across 21 IITs: IIT Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Madras, Kharagpur, Roorkee, etc.
Besides IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs, IISERs, DIAT, IIPE, JNCASR and a few other premiere institutions also consider JAM 2026 scores for 2300+ seats. Experts advise candidates to get all work done well in advance of closing dates to make sure no last-minute rush or technical delays.
