New Delhi: The National Testing Agency team (NTA) on Friday caught the impersonators who attempted to appear for the EPFO Social Security Assistant Examination on behalf of the real candidates and handed over to the police.
The agency nabbed the accused with the help of Facial Recognition Check installed at the exam centre. As soon as the accused stood in front of the AI tool, the machine could not match the face with real candidate that raised alarm at the spot.
Following which, the authorities prompted to check AADHAAR authentication of the candidate that revealed that the person who appeared to sit in the exam was actually an impersonator came to write the exam for someone else. They were later handed over to the police after they confessed their wrongdoing.
Incident in Noida, Kolkata and Roorkee
The incident took place at a centre in Sector 62 of Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. Along with that, similar incidents took place at centres in Kolkata and Roorkee.
The AI-based faced recognition machine was installed at the exam centre for fair practices of examination. The NTA has incorporated with several Artificial Intelligence based tools at the exam centres to nab the impersonators.
This would help to check malpractices during the ongoing EPFO Social Security Assistant Examination that is being conducted by the agency, said officials.
EPFO Exam Schedule, Vacancy details
The EPFO exam started on Friday and the admit card for the same has been released already on the official website — epfindia.gov.in
As per the schedule, the exam will be next held on August 21 and continued till August 23. The exam is being held to fill as many as 2,849 vacancies.
