UGC NET December 2022

To become a professor or invest time in research, one must qualify UGC Net Exam.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has given the National Testing Agency (NTA) the responsibility of conducting UGC-NET, a test to determine whether Indian citizens are eligible for the positions of “Assistant Professor” and “Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor” in Indian universities and colleges.

The University Grants Commission conducts this exam, NET, twice a year for eligible students. Candidates with a Master’s Degree OR an equivalent examination with at least 55% (without rounding off) in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science, etc., from UGC-recognized universities/institutions are eligible for NET. Check UGC net cutoff and qualifying marks Subject wise.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) declared in 2013 that applicants who pass the NET would be eligible for lucrative posts as college lecturers in public sector organisations (PSUs). PSUs may use the results of the UGC-NET examination in selecting candidates for executive positions in their institutions in science (R&D), management, corporate communications, human resources, and finance. By taking this action, the UGC hopes to raise the number of students who take the UGC-NET exam, which has been steadily declining in recent years.

The candidate’s overall performance in Paper-I and Paper-II of the UGC-NET will determine whether they are awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or are eligible for an assistant professorship. The awarding of JRF is not to be given to individuals who simply meet the requirements for an assistant professorship. As the case may be, the norms and regulations for hiring assistant professors of the relevant universities, colleges, or state governments apply to candidates who pass the eligibility test for the position.

Important Points to Consider:

  1. Candidates must provide their full postal address and PIN code for future correspondence.
  2. As communication may be delivered by NTA through email or SMS, the candidate must guarantee that the email address and mobile number provided in the online application form are their own (and cannot be altered later).
  3. The candidate should not include the coaching centre’s postal address, phone number, or email address in the online application form.
  4. Candidates must apply online to appear for the UGC-NET June 2022 and December 2021 (merged cycles). Application forms sent in a manner other than online will not be accepted. No changes will be accepted by offline methods, such as fax, application, email, etc.
  5. To submit an application online, go to the NTA’s official website at ugcnet.nic.in.
  6. Once an online application form is successfully submitted, it cannot be changed or deleted.
  7. Candidates’ application forms that do not meet the requirements for eligibility will be disregarded.

NTA, the exam conducting body, strictly follows the reservation criteria, so one must checkout every small and big information before registering to avoid any issues.
