GATE Registration 2026: Exam pattern
The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2025. Each paper will have a duration of three hours, while candidates eligible for compensatory time will be given four hours to complete the test. The exam will comprise 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks, and it will automatically end once the allotted time is over.
The GATE score serves as a key criterion for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, science, architecture, and humanities at institutions supported by the Ministry of Education and other government bodies. Additionally, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) across India also accept GATE scores for recruitment purposes.
