Taking an important initiative to encourage and empower single daughters in the field of education, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has sought online applications for the ‘Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship’ scheme. This scholarship will be given to eligible students who are the only children of their parents.
Students who want to take advantage of this scheme can apply by visiting the official website of CBSE cbse.gov.in. The last date to apply has been fixed on 23 October 2025.
Eligibility Conditions:
The student has secured at least 70% marks in the CBSE class 10 examination.
She is currently studying in class 11 or 12 in CBSE recognized school.
The school’s monthly tuition fees should not exceed ₹ 2,500.
NRI students are also eligible for this scheme, provided their fees are not more than ₹ 6,000 per month.
The annual income of the girl’s family should be a maximum of ₹ 8 lakh.

Click on the link related to scholarship.
Fill the application form and upload the necessary documents.
Submit the form.
Don’t forget to keep a printout for future needs.
The notification of CBSE also mentions that this application is for the students who have passed class 10 in 2025 and are now studying in class 11, as well as students getting scholarship in 2024 can also apply for renewal.
Renewal and Benefits:
The scholarship will be given for one year and renewed for one year if passed successfully.
For this, the student will have to get at least 50% marks.
The student may get other concessions from schools or other institutions along with this scholarship.
If the student changes the course, school or leaves studies, renewal of scholarship will be possible only with the permission of CBSE.
The behavior and attendance of the student is also necessary to continue scholarship. The scheme is a meaningful effort to make single daughters self -reliant and strong citizens. Interested students should apply in time and take advantage of this golden opportunity.
