The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has formally announced a sizable recruitment for Technician recruitment of 6,180 total vacancies across all zones of Indian Railways for the 2025-26 cycle. A short notification has been published in the Employment News dated 16th June, followed by a detailed advertisement (CEN 02/2025) release expected 27th June. Online registration is expected to open 28th June and close on 28th July at 11.59 PM.
Highlights Of RRB Technician Recruitment 2025
Of the 6,180 total vacancies, 180 are for the Technician Grade 1 Signal, while the remaining 6,000 are for Technician Grade 3 posts. The selection process for both positions will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Document Verification, followed by a medical fitness test.
This recruitment drive is a considerable chance for candidates wanting to enter the technical workforce of Indian Railways – especially those who have previously missed out or who may have missed a chance previously.
Eligibility:
Technician Grade 1 Signal: Applicants must possess a BSc in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Instrumentation or possess a Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the relevant field.
Technician – Grade 3: Candidates must have passed Class 10 (SSLC Matriculation) along with an ITI or completed Apprenticeship in one of the following trades: Foundry-man; Moulder; Pattern Maker; Forger and Heat Treater.
Age Limits (On July 1, 2025):
Grade 1 Signal – 18 to 33 years
Grade 3 – 18 to 30 years
Relaxes to reserved categories will be in accordance with government norms.
Application Fee Structure
Rs 250: SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, PwD, Women, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class (fully refundable on appearance in CBT).
Rs 500: All other categories – Rs. 400 fully refundable on appearance in CBT.
Salary And Pay Levels
Technician Grade 1 Signal: Pay Level 5, Rs 29,200 (Initial Pay) per month.
Technician Grade 3: Pay Level 2, Rs 19,900 (Initial Pay) per month.
Additional allowances and benefits as per the current 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

Candidates will apply online through the official RRB website rrbcdg.gov.in when the application portal is opened on June 28. The detailed notification will have zone-wise vacancies, step-by-step guidance for filling out the form, and syllabus for CBT.
