Follow 10 steps to get Tatkal passport:  

  1. Visit the passport department’s official website at www.passportindia.gov.in.
  2. Register on the Passport Seva official website.
  3. After registering, use your ID and password to log in to the portal.
  4. There are two options: “Fresh” and “Reissue.” Choose the appropriate option.
  5. Select the ‘Tatkal’ option in the scheme type.
  6. Download the application and enter the necessary information.
  7. After revising the information, submit the form.
  8. Complete the payment process and print the receipt.
  9. Schedule a visit to the nearby Passport Service Kendra.
  10. These steps would bring the online application for the Tatkal passport service to a close.

Documents required for Passport Renewal are as follows:

  • Two self-attested photocopies of the passport’s first two and last two pages
  • The original old passport
  • Self-attested EC/NON-EC page
  • Passport Issuing Authority’s self-attested observation page, if any
  • In the case of a Short Validity Passport (SVP), a self-attested copy of the validity extension page is required.
  • Proof that eliminates the need for the Short Validity Passport (SVP).
