A three-day annual sport, cultural and technical fest ‘Aarohan Poornima 2023’ was recently organized by Poornima Group of Colleges (PGC), Jaipur. In this, students got a chance to enjoy the live performance of artists like famous Bollywood composer duo Salim-Sulaiman, Singer Papon and actor Vikalp Mehta. MKM Shah, Director General, PGC inaugurated the fest by lighting the torch as the chief guest.
Singer Papon started the live performance with the song ‘Tu Jo Mila’ in the cultural evening on the first day. After this, he sang songs like ‘Mhare Hivde Me Lagi’, ‘Pehla Nasha’, ‘Ek Ajnabi Haseena Se’, ‘Lag Ja Gale’, ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Ye etc. He also sang the Rajasthani song ‘Baisa Ra Bira’. Seeing the enthusiasm of the students, Papon described Poornima as a musical college.
Vikalp Mehta, who is renowned as junior Akshay Kumar tickled the bells of the students with his comedy. They enthralled the students by dancing to various songs like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ and ‘Main Tera Hero’. Vikalp called six students on the stage and made them mimic different artists.
In the DJ Night organized on the evening of the second day of the fest, DJ Trapper X presented mashups of new and old songs on various best tunes, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the students of PCE and PIET.
The fest ended with a live performance by Salim-Sulaiman. The famous Bollywood composer duo enthralled the students by rendering many Bollywood songs. They started the program with the song ‘Qurbaan Hua’. After this, recited songs like ‘Ae Khuda’, ‘Ishq Wala Love’, ‘Nazaron Se Nazaren Mili’, ‘Jalwa’, ‘Haule-Haule Ho Jayega Pyaar’ etc. Singer Raj Pandit and Vipul Mehta gave an impressive performance on the song ‘Zindadili’.
In the Air Show organized under the fest, the aerobatics of drones made by the Udaan Aeromodelling Club of Poornima Group were shown. In the Go-kart competition held in the technical category, students crossed hurdles by driving a car made by the Hygriva Club of Poornima Group. In the Tech Quiz Competition, various questions related to technology were asked of the students. Apart from these, competitions like Flash Mob, Jamming, Sell It Up, F1 Open Racing and You Laugh You Lose were also held. In KBC, students and faculty members won many coupons by answering tricky questions.
In the cultural category, attractive presentations of western and traditional dance were given by the students in the group and solo categories. In the fashion walk, the engineering students walked the ramp wearing designer outfits. In the sports category matches were held for volleyball, badminton, chess, carrom, box cricket, long jump, shot put, tug of war, race, kabaddi and table tennis. In all these, there was a lot of hard work among the students to win.
