According to the official schedule, the exam unique code for the exam for the candidates will be available on July 14, 2023. The NeXT admit card 2023 for the mock test will be available on July 21. Till July 21, the Candidates can submit the certificate for scribe or compensatory time. The date of the examination is slated on July 28.
In addition to serving as a common qualifying final-year MBBS exam, a licensing exam to practice modern medicine, and a screening exam for foreign medical graduates who wish to practice in the country, NExT will replace the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) PG for admission to postgraduate programs.
The NExT Step 1 and NExT Step 2 exams will be held twice a year in accordance with the NExT Regulations 2023, which were released by the NMC.
However, Union Minister for Health, Mansukh Mandaviya, had earlier stated that the examination would be open to students starting with the 2020 MBBS batch and beyond.
“The 2019 class will not be included in the examination,” he had stressed.
The Indian Medical Association, meantime, had opposed the exam, claiming that it could not be implemented in the current environment unless the NMC ensured uniform educational standards across all medical colleges in the nation.
