The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is considered one of the toughest exams in India and is the gateway to top administrative positions in the country. Although millions of aspirants appear for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) every year, only a small number manage to succeed. The exam is conducted in three stages, the Preliminary exam, the Main exam, and the Interview. Over the years, civil servants such as Anudeep Durishetty, Tina Dabi, and Smita Sabharwal have gained popularity among aspirants, and now a new name has been added to this list.
Shakti Dubey secured All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the UPSC CSE 2024, and her marksheet has gone viral on social media. Her achievement has inspired many aspirants across the country. Shakti is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and hails from the Naini area. She completed her graduation with a BSc degree from Allahabad University and later earned a postgraduate degree in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2016.

Shakti began her UPSC preparation in 2018 after deciding to pursue her long-held dream of joining the civil services. Despite having a strong science background, she chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subjects. Her journey was challenging, and success did not come easily in her early attempts. However, she remained determined and continued her preparation with consistency and hard work.
In her fifth attempt, Shakti Dubey finally achieved success by topping the UPSC CSE 2024. She scored a total of 1043 marks, including 843 marks in the written examination out of 1750 and 200 marks in the interview out of 275. According to the UPSC, her overall score was 51.5 percent. Her story stands as a strong example of perseverance and dedication, motivating aspirants to stay focused and never give up on their goals.
