New Delhi: Another expressway is to be built that will connect Punjab and Gujrat. It is claimed to be the longest motorway in the world.
According to information, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has recently reviewed the construction work of the Amritsar-Jamnagar expressway. This expressway is expected to be completed in October this year. It is being told that the total length of this expressway is 1256 km. It will connect Jamnagar in Gujarat via Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. According to sources, the largest part of this expressway is in Rajasthan.
The total cost of the Amritsar-Jamnagar expressway is said to be Rs 80 thousand crore. This cost also includes the acquisition of land for the expressway. It will connect the Delhi-Katra Motorway in Kapurthala, after which its length will increase further. It is believed that this expressway will also be India’s largest and longest economic corridor. It will also be used as a cargo carrier.
According to local media, this 6-line motorway, Amritsar-Jamnagar, will pass through Bathinda, Chautala, Rasisar, Deogarh, Sanchor, Santalpur, and Maliya in Punjab. NHAI sources claim that after the construction of this expressway, the journey of 26 hours can be completed in just 13 hours.
