Ballia: A woman who went to visit her husband in district jail here died after she consumed poisonous biscuits with the latter who is in prision in a murder case. However, the man fell seriously ill and undergoing treatment.
As per a report of the news agency PTI, the incidnet took place on Wednesday. The victim Neelam Sahni (23) had visited prison to meet her husband Suraj Sahni (25) where the couple took the buscuits laden with poisonous substances.
After which, the couple was immideately taken to the hospital. The woman died while undergoring treatment while, the man was transferred to Varanasi for better treatment as his health was deteriorating badly.
As per the media reports, Suraj was in judicial custody as he had killed his cousin over minor dispute. He is a resident of Dumri village in Bansdeeh.
