New Delhi: A woman and her lover had their hair partially cut and paraded by the man’s wife and in-laws in Sri Sathyasai district, Andhra Pradesh on Monday, said police officials.
Angry with her husband Hussain (30 years old) for allegedly having an affair with Shabana (32 years old), Nazia and her family members tied their hands and led them through the streets of the village in the broad daylight.
Hindupur sub-divisional police officer P Kanjakshan said, “Hussain is in an alleged illegal relationship with Shabana and because of this reason, Hussain’s wife went to the place where Shabana was residing and tonsured both of them and paraded them in the town,” quoted the news agency PTI.
Their act of cutting their hair was caught on camera and the video went viral on the internet in which, Hussain and Shabana could be seen wearing slippers tied in a thread around his neck.
Kanjakshan said the two were then put on an auto-rickshaw to the village of Utukuru, Hussain’s hometown in Parigi Mandal, where residents arrested Nazia and her family members and handed them over to the police.
Case Registered
Police are in the process of registering zero FIR under different sections of Indian Penal Code like 506, 355, 323 and others at Parigi Mandal against Nazia and her family members, reported the news agency.
The police have booked them for illegal trespass, wrongful restraint, confinement, outraging the modesty and other crimes. Meanwhile, the FIR is going to be transferred to the exact jurisdiction of Hindupur 1 Town police station, said the police official.
