Uttar Pradesh: In another hit-and-drag case, a 6-year-old child and his 67-year-old grandfather were killed after being dragged by a truck for two kilometres in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba. The accident happened on the NH-86 Kanpur-Sagar Highway.
According to police, Udit Narayan Chansoria, 67, and his grandson Satvik were on their way to the market when their scooter was hit by a speeding dump truck. While Udit died immediately, Satvik and the two-wheeler were dragged for more than two kilometres.

The elderly man and his grandson were taken to the district hospital, where they were declared dead. The bodies were taken to the mortuary for examination.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Several bikes near the truck can be seen in the video attempting to alert the driver. After bystanders threw stones and boulders on the road, the truck came to a halt. Locals assaulted the truck driver. The truck has been seized, and the driver has been arrested.
SP, Mahoba, Aparna Gupta, said, “We have arrested the driver and seized the dumper truck. As the accident was horrific, we have booked the driver under Section 304 of the IPC.”
