Viral: A video from Jaunpur is getting viral on social media in which a woman can be seen being thrashed inhumanely by a group of men. Jaunpur Police arrested two accused from Wari Canal Pulia area under Sections 323, 504, 506, 427, 452, 147, 308, 379, and 411 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In the video, the two accused, identified as Shyamlal Maurya and Rahul Maurya, can be seen beating a woman with sticks. The incident took place at Machlishahar police station in Rampur Katahit village on the morning of March 19.

The accused were allegedly trying to uproot and steal bricks. However, the woman intervened and tried to stop them from doing so. Enraged, the accused started beating the woman.

All the stolen items were recovered by the police and after all the necessary actions, both accused were presented before the court for remand.

The video, which is now deleted, was first shared by a local journalist, Gyanendra Shukla, with the caption, “The viral video of the brutal beating of the woman is being told from Jaunpur. Horrific orgy of bullies in Rampur Katahit village of Machhalishahr, entered the house and beat women.”

In reply to the post, Jaunpur police commented, “It was informed by Inspector-in-Charge Machhalishahr that there was a dispute regarding Khadanja, in which a case has been registered on the basis of Tahrir. Legal proceedings are prevalent.”
