Delhi: Could you believe someone booked a bike ride for just 180 meters? Yes, this incident has happened in Delhi, where a woman booked an OLA bike road to travel a very short distance. The video has gone viral on the internet and sparked a discussion about an important issue in society. In the viral video, as the bike arrives at the pickup spot, the driver is seen asking the OTP to start the ride. When the woman tells him the OTP, the rider is shocked to find that the distance is just 180 meters (roughly a 2-minute walk). He then asks the woman if the address is right, to which she confirms that it is this only.
You might be wondering why the girl booked the ride for just 180 metres, then the reason will shock you. She explained to the rider that there are street dogs in her area, and she is scared of them. The woman added that she doesn’t want to walk alone, which is why she booked the OLA bike. Reportedly, the ride cost her Rs 19.

As the video went viral, it sparked discussions among netizens about street safety and the issue of stray animals in Delhi. It also highlighted the increasing number of stray dogs in the area. The video has been shared by an X user named Ghar Ke Kalesh.
A user wrote, “Stray dogs are a major problem in entire north India.” Another added, “Dog bites are a significant public health issue in India. In 2024, approximately 22 lakh (2.2 million) dog bite cases were reported- largest in World. Animal Welfare Organisations don’t help in reduction of number of stray dogs.” One user called it a perfect use of technology and wrote, “Best use of technology and facilities. She could pass the road holding someone’s hand but she chose to be empowered.”
“Ha ha ha ye badhiya dimag lagaya hai didi ne,” commented a user. “I booked a Uber for the same reason. Late night show se aa raha tha aur ghar ke pass kutto ki fauz rehti thi,” another wrote.
While some users expressed genuine concern regarding the incident, some users called the video scripted. A user named Pawan Yadav wrote, “Can’t see a single dog in this ride video that was booked due to stray dogs! These are scripted videos made for the content on YouTube as normally not a single bike rider uses a camera on their helmet. So, whenever you see a video from this angle by a bike rider claiming to be working in ride apps, then that’s scripted.”
