Video: Making reel gets fatal! Man dies after loosing grip, falling into Karnataka’s waterfall

New Delhi: A man aged 22 who was swept away in the waterfall in Karnataka‘s Udupi while making a reel video for the social media platform Instagram died.

The victim belonged to Bhadravati in Shivamogga district fell into the Arasinagundi Falls in Kollur police limits and died, reported the news agency PTI. The incident took place on Sunday evening. A video of the incident went viral on internet showing the man posing for the camera.

Further in the video, the man was seen loosing his grip from the rock that he was standing on and immediately slipped into the waterfall. The water current was too high that he could not get time to react and he was washed away with the flow mere in a fraction of time.

Victim Entered Without Permission 

The spot where the incident took place gets restricted during monsoon months and the ban was on at the time of the accident. However, the man and his friends had walked 6 km before reaching the falls in the Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary in Kollur that comes under the Kudremukh Wildlife Division.

The officials informed that the victim and his friends did not get any permission to reach at the spot but they however went, taking the risk of their lives. The authorities alleged that they must have entered Village Forest Committee at Dali area in Kollur without being caught.

Twitter Lashes Out ‘Misadventure’ 

Meanwhile, people have condemned the daring of the man that costed him his life. Many said that people do such activities mere for the likes but that is too dangerous as this case prooves it.
