Uttar Pradesh: From Monday, three days of G20 events have started in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Representatives of 20 leading countries and representatives of other participating countries will participate in the meeting of the Agriculture Working Group here from April 17 to 19. According to officials, there will be a total of six G20 meetings in Varanasi, of which the first will begin on Monday.

First-day plan

On the first day of the summit in Varanasi, a special agro-food system will be inaugurated under MACS (the Meeting of Chief Scientists of Agriculture) 2023. The first session of the meeting will focus on Food Security and Nutrition: The Role of Science, Technology, and Innovation. And the second session will be on “Flexible Agri-Food Systems.” In the evening, the G20 representatives will participate in the Ganga Aarti at Kashi.

Second-day plan

On the second day, there will be a session titled “Digital Agriculture and Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains and Public-Private Partnerships in Agricultural R&D: Perspectives from Developed and Developing Countries.” After this, all the foreign guests will go to Sarnath in the evening. Here visitors will see the museum and a light and sound show while also enjoying a cultural programme at Buddha Theme Park.
