Noida: As part of the campaign against illegal liquor in the district, the Excise Department team has arrested a smuggler. from whose possession paves of UP Marka Country Liquor were recovered. As per the orders given by the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Excise Commissioner, a special enforcement campaign is being conducted to stop the manufacture, sale, and transportation of illegal liquor in the district under the direction of the District Magistrate and Police Commissioner.
They used to buy liquor from the licensed liquor shop under the guise of a grocery store and sell it at double the price after the shop was closed. He used to run a grocery shop during the day and smuggle liquor from the same shop at night.
District Excise Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the Excise Department teams are continuously checking highways, dhabas, restaurants, and the Delhi border against illegal liquor. In the early hours of Friday, information was received that a person was selling liquor at double the price in the Nandgram police station area. Taking immediate action on the information, the team of Excise Inspector Abhay Deep Singh directed the raid. As soon as the team of excise inspectors got the information, they raided places like Noor Nagar, Nai Basti, Sikrod, Deendayalpuri, Sihani, and Sewa Nagar under Thana Nandgram.
During the raid, Charan Singh, s/o Sanchu Singh, a resident of Deendayalpuri, was found selling liquor illegally near a grocery shop in Deendayalpuri at around 7 a.m. From whose possession 21 Pavwe Miss India Country Liquor UP Marka was recovered against whom he was sent to jail while taking action under the Excise Act at Nandgram police station.
