The woman told that she married a 55-year-old farmer from Chhattisgarh who was a divorcee for the second time, and has a son. She alleged that her stepson sexually assaulted her and threatened her to remain silent.

She claimed that she had gotten pregnant but lost her kid as she was kicked on her stomach. The victim said she wanted to do the DNA test to find out who the father is but she was rather forced to abort the child in a private hospital in Puranpur.

The rape victim was also raped by husband’s relatives and colleagues. On July 16, the woman was taken to a farmhouse where the relatives and friends raped her.

The woman with some will left went to the court for justice where an order was issued to the police to file an FIR and initiate the investigation.

Puranpur Police registered an FIR recently against five men, including her husband and stepson and booked them under IPC sections 376-D (gang-rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

However, no arrests were made.

After which the woman resorted to writing a letter to the President to end her life in a legal manner as she has lost the hope to ever get the justice.

The rape victim is currently staying with her mother, two brothers and her six-year-old son, who is from her first marriage.
