Meerut: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on Thursday shot down gangster Anil Dujana in Meerut. 

He was an infamous criminal known to terrorise people in Ghaziabad, Noida, and other parts of NCR. As per information 60 criminal cases were registered against him. 

After getting bail in a murder case, Dujana exited jail just a week ago. As per sources, Immediately after his release, he started threatening one of the witnesses in the murder case filed against him. He decided to kill the witness.

The UP STF then moved to arrest him but during the operation, an encounter took place between police and his gang in which Dujana was killed. The encounter occurred on an unpaved road surrounded by bushes in a village in Meerut. 

The gand was hiding there and opened fire at STF operatives during the approach. The police team retaliated immediately, said Police. 

Recently, Last month on April 13, the UP STF killed Asad, son of Atiq Ahmed, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, and his aide Ghulam in an encounter in Jhansi. A day after this, on April 15, Atiq and his brother Ashraf were murdered by three assailants while in police custody in Prayagraj.
