New Delhi: As many as two men attacked a police van carrying Aftab Amin Poonawalla who is an accused in the Shraddha Murder Case. The incident took place outside the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Rohini in the national capital on Monday.
The two attackers flashed their swords in an attempt to injure Aftab. However, the police overpowered the two by pointing out guns at them. Delhi Police has detained the two miscreants who claimed to belong to Hindu Sena.
On November 28, the Police took Aftab to the FSL for his polygraph test due yesterday. Meanwhile, a car stopped right in front of the police van and two men came out of the vehicle. However, the car fled.
The two started their attacks and said they want to avenge the death of Shraddha Walker.
However, the Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Sharma has distanced himself from the attack saying the two acted upon their enraged feelings. He said, “Whatever these activists have done is by reacting to their personal feelings. The whole country got to know how Poonawala cut a Hindu girl into pieces.”
“The organisation does not support any such work which is against the Constitution of India. We believe in the law,” he said.
In a spine-chilling incident in Delhi, the accused, Aftab, was in a live-in relationship with a girl named Shraddha from Mumbai.
Aftab killed Shraddha and chopped off his body parts, dumping them in the Mehrauli forest on May 18, after the two had a fight. The accused used to go out around 2 a.m. every day to dump the body parts.
