Tragic Discovery In Delhi: Couple Found Dead In Hotel Room With Suicide Note

Two lovers mutually decided to end their lives at a OYO hotel near the Maujpur metro station in New Delhi.

New Delhi: In a grim discovery, the Delhi Police uncovered two lifeless bodies in a room at an Oyo hotel near the Maujpur metro station. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Jafrabad Police Station in room number 302, located on the 3rd floor of King’s Stay, an OYO Hotel, near the Maujpur Metro Station, as reported by the police.

Identified as Residents of UP

The deceased individuals were identified as Sohrab, aged 28, and Ayesha, aged 27, both hailing from Uttar Pradesh, according to the police. Sohrab hailed from Meerut, while Ayesha was a resident of Loni.

Check-in and Tragic Discovery

An investigation conducted by the police revealed that Sohrab and Ayesha had checked into the OYO Hotel at 01:02 pm on the same day and had booked the room for a 4-hour duration. When the couple did not exit the room, hotel staff knocked on the door around 07:45 pm. Upon the staff’s concern, a beat constable was notified, and the room was subsequently unlocked in the presence of the police.

Tragic Scene

Inside the room, a horrifying scene awaited the authorities. Sohrab was found hanging from the ceiling fan, while Ayesha was discovered lifeless on the bed, displaying ligature marks on her neck, according to the police.

Discovery of a Suicide Note

Additionally, the police came across a suicide note in the room. The handwritten half-page note was located on the bed near Ayesha’s lifeless body. In the note, the couple professed their love and declared their shared decision to end their lives together.

Investigation and Post-Mortem

A specialized crime branch team and a forensic team were dispatched to the scene and initiated an investigation. They are meticulously reviewing the hotel’s CCTV footage, focusing on the reception area and the staircase. The bodies have been dispatched for post-mortem examinations, and any further actions will be contingent on the post-mortem reports.

Questioning Ayesha’s Husband

Notably, Ayesha was married to Mohammed Gulfam and had two children, a 9-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter. Her husband is engaged in selling gym equipment, and he is currently undergoing questioning by the police regarding the tragic events.

Contacting Sohrab’s Family

Simultaneously, efforts are underway to establish contact with Sohrab’s family. Sohrab was the son of Shamsheer, according to the police. In light of the situation, the police are conducting a comprehensive investigation, exploring all possible angles to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
