Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh): Three persons, including two brothers, died and three others were injured after an SUV they were travelling in overturned in a ditch in Behta Gokul area of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh.
Citing police sources, news agency UNI reported that the incident took place late on Monday night when the SUV carrying six passengers overturned in a ditch.
“All passengers identified as Patte (59), his brother Himmat (52), Neha (9), her brother Himanshu (11), Vishok (10) and Ram Devi (58) were injured in the accident,” they said.
Police sources said that Patte, his brother Himmat and Neha succumbed to their injuries, as reported by UNI.
“Other injured are being treated in the hospital. The victims were returning after attending a marriage function when the incident took place,” they said.
It is alleged that the driver was under the influence of alcohol when the accident happened. He is absconding after the incident.
