Maharastra: Recently, in the Bhiwandi area of Maharashtra’s Thane, the Anti-Terro Squad (ATS) and Thane police raided the fifth floor of a building in Gauri Pada where a gang was running a hoax telephone exchange.
According to the police, when they reached the place to catch the group, one accused jumped off the roof because he was afraid of getting arrested.
Thane police officials said, “One of the accused jumped from the roof of the building to avoid being caught by the ATS and died. The body was sent for postmortem.”
Police are looking for the owner of the flat and have seized all goods. Further investigation is underway.
Moradabad Police raided an illegal international telephone exchange in July of last year and detained two people for operating the bogus exchange. The phoney phone exchange operator was turning international calls into domestic calls. The accused utilised SIM boxes to convert VoIP calls to GSM calls.
