Chennai: A girl studying in Class 12 died allegedly by suicide in her hostel room on Monday in Kilacheri, Tiruvallur district. After the incident, the police personnel were deployed at the school premises.

Soon after the incident came into light, Parents along with the relatives of the deceased held a protest demonstration in Thekkalur.

As per The New Indian Express, the case has been transferred to the CB-CID.

The victim (17) was studying in a school aided by government in Kilacheri village in Mappedu in Tiruvallur. The parents of the girls are daily wage labourers.

The report further mentioned that the girl had told her friends that she would attend the classes later. However, when she did not come later, the hostel staff checked her room to find out hanging from the ceiling.
