The accused identifies self as the national executive member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha and national co-coordinator of its Yuva Samiti.

However, the ruling party has dismissed any connection with the accused.

In a video taking rounds on internet, Tyagi was seen assaulting a woman by abusing and pushing her.

The argument between the two intensified after the woman objected the encroachment by the accused. The woman said Tyagi was gradually grabbing more space by planting flowers and trees.

As per media reports, Tyagi was charged under Section 307 (attempt to murder).

Also, the accused has been absconded for several days who have now submitted a surrender application to the court.
