A tragic incident unfolded in the Vasant Kunj area of Delhi where a 43-year-old taxi driver lost his life after being dragged for nearly 200 meters on the road. The horrifying incident was captured on camera.

According to the police, the driver, identified as Bijendra, a resident of Faridabad, was found in critical condition late on Tuesday night at around 11:30 pm. He had sustained a severe head injury.
The dreadful events began when Bijendra was driving his taxi in the Mahipalpur area, and a group of robbers attempted to steal his vehicle. When he bravely resisted their efforts, they resorted to violence, striking him with the taxi and subsequently dragging him for a distance exceeding 200 meters.
This gruesome act ultimately led to his untimely demise.
The Delhi Police has initiated an investigation into the case, and as of now, the accused remain at large.
Owing to people’s carelessness, hit-and-run cases aren’t that rare in our country. An incident of a similar nature from Odisha recently came to light where several people lost their lives in separate accidents. Among the deceased were two minors. In one case, a woman and her minor son were sleeping in the open when the duo was mowed down by a speeding truck. While in another case, a class IX student was killed when a mini truck chit her cycle from behind.
