Satpuli, Uttarakhand: A shocking case of rape of a 15-year-old girl by her own father has come to light in an Uttarakhand village under Satpuli tehsil. In this case, the errant father was apprehended by the Revenue Department and imprisoned.
When the rape victim girl’s health deteriorated, her father brought her to the Hans Foundation’s General Hospital Chamoli. The girl told the hospital doctors about her ordeal here. Upon learning of this, the hospital administration immediately notified the police. Following that, revenue sub-inspector Amit Negi arrived on the scene and arrested the girl’s father.
According to Deputy District Magistrate Satpuli Sandeep Kumar, after taking cognizance of the matter based on the girl’s statements, the accused was sent to jail after registering a case under Section 3/4 POCSO Act and Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. A proposal to transfer the case to the Regular Police has been sent to the District Magistrate.
